origins
The years leading up to the origins of this ministry were crucial in that God had been moving in people’s hearts to see a stirring in the young adults in Chino Hills and surrounding areas. Local college campuses had been a major player in that it was an eye opening reality that’s all too common in young Christians…. Passionate Christianity’s not just declining, it was almost non-existent. From this was birthed a desire to see young people not just exist as Christians, but to thrive and affect their culture. Revive from the beginnings has had a simple heart to see young people love Jesus and see lives changed, and so in June of 2009 Revive had it’s first service and we’ve been seeking God’s heart since.
purpose
At the heart of it all, Revive exists to see a generation stake their lives on what matters most. For us, that is the fame of Jesus Christ who saves and sends, and our opportunity to exalt His name in everything we do. Whether it’s globally or in the cities and campuses of our nation, we’re convinced more than ever that God is raising up a generation to make their lives count for His fame.
vision
Revive is a Sunday night service at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills with a vision to see God radically move in people’s lives causing deep growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe this is accomplished through the teaching of God’s inspired word, a reverence of God in an adoring response of worship, and reliance upon God’s spirit, power, and anointing. We strongly encourage and provide a platform for people to individually seek God’s face during worship for God to clearly speak to their lives and to get a hold of hearts, minds and souls. The bible speaks about repentance, conversion, and forgiveness and that when these things take place in that order, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and so we will seek Gods heart on these Sunday nights. The book of Hosea clearly says that those who dwell under His shadow shall return, and they shall be revived. We believe there is transformation that takes place when people commit time to spend with God in His word and Him alone, and desire Sunday nights at Revive to be a place where God waters lives and causes revival in His people. Psalm 85:6 says, “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you” which is why God’s allowed for worship celebration and time of rejoicing for the follower of God. The times of worship are purposed to give God the sacrifice of our lips, and offer Him our praise. Our hope is that these times with Him will be sweet as we gaze upon His face and spend time at His feet that He will revive hearts and lives and that He alone would be our delight.
